Cultural Series

The Town of Lumberland Cultural Series promotes a variety of fine cultural programs including concerts of a professional nature that appeal to the residents of the Delaware Valley, the Tri-States and the local communities. Great pride is an intrical part of our essence. Each performance is carefully designed and presented in a positive manner to foster, promote and enhance “The Arts” within the Town of Lumberland, Sullivan County and the State of New York. The Town of Lumberland Cultural Series is a branch of the local Town of Lumberland government.

History of the Cultural Series

The Town of Lumberland Cultural Series was founded in 1985 by Frank V Schwarz. The Series began with a series of concerts to help to restore the Town of Lumberland Steinway grand piano, c.1894. Through numerous concerts, community and town board support the town Steinway grand piano was restored and dedicated at festivities on May 16, 17th 1987. Since that time over 125 Concerts, Exhibits and lectures have been presented. A Cultural Series Board was established by the town since the inception. Grant funding has been awarded to the series since 1986 through DVAA Decentralization Program. The Town of Lumberland actively supports the programming of the Cultural Series.

Recent Events

The Town of Lumberland Cultural Series celebrated a 25th Anniversary of presenting fine cultural programs to the Town of Lumberland on Sunday, October 17, 2010. A series of speakers and local and Sullivan County officials shared proclamation, well wishes that were enhanced with festive Hall decorations by the Cultural Series Board Members, performances by performers, a large memorabilia display and buffet provided by the Cultural Series Board. Executive Director, Frank V Schwarz was presented a plaque of appreciation by Lumberland Supervisor, Nadia Rajsz and Town Board Members.
