What is the Role of the Town Supervisor?
The Supervisor is an elected position, serving a four-year term and is part of the legislative branch of government, acting as administrator, and is the head of all municipal agencies. The Supervisor is a full member of the board with no additional tie-breaking or veto power, and acts as Chief Fiscal Officer, having the care and custody of monies belonging to the town; disburses such monies, keeps an accurate and complete account of all monies; makes reports as required; pays fixed salaries and, after audit by the Town Board, and preparation of abstract by the Bookkeeper, pays other claims; and leases, sells and conveys properties of the town when so directed by the Town Board. The supervisor calls and runs meetings as well as sets the agenda for those meetings.

The Supervisor is available in the Lumberland Municipal Building by appointment.
